March 2, 2020  Left At The Gate (LATG) was invited to speak to the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Suicide Prevention Coalition. Jim Whittle, along with Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, spoke on "Postvention as Prevention", programs that Left At The Gate is providing for suicide loss survivors, and the collaboration between the Coroner's Office and LATG to implement the state's first LOSS Team (Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide).

February 24, 2020   Richland County Coroner Gary Watts and Left At The Gate held a joint press conference at the offices of the Coroner to announce their collaboration in forming the state's first LOSS Team.

LOSS Teams (Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide) are designed to respond in the

immediate aftermath of suicides to offer resources,hope, encouragement, and

comfort to loss survivors.

Left At The Gate will assist in the funding of training and the building of resource

packets for the teams. Their goal is to provide these services and to help implement

LOSS teams in each county throughout the state.
